I have hurt my back in the most stupid way possible. This is completely my fault, because I always knew I had weak back muscles, and never did anything about it. Now I am in pain, I can hardly sit or walk, I have to lie on the floor most of the time, and I can’t do what I have to be able to do at work: lifting.
Thank goodness I work with physiotherapists and doctors. Both of which kindly gave me free advise, and from my doctor-colleague I got a prescription of arcoxia (a new generation of NSAID’s that inhibit only cox-2 enzymes), and free drug samples of celebra (which is the same as arcoxia, only stronger).
I have two days off now, and I hope I can deal with the pain somehow before returning to work on Saturday. Right now I actually should not be writing and sitting in front of the computer. I have already spent almost half the day on the floor, lying on my back with my legs resting at 90 degrees on a chair, which is currently the only comfortable position for me. Every once in a while I tried doing a few exercise moves, such as pelvic thrusts, and bicycle crunches, but soon the pain returns.
May this be a lesson well learnt. I’m starting pilates classes soon, so no preaching required!
By the way, I once upon a time wrote a warning in a more serious health tip, that one should never take a medication without reading the leaflet. Here is some useful info from someone who shares the same opinion:
Health tip: It is your responsibility to read medicine instructions thoroughly, and to follow them.

fyi – I too have a lot of back problems. I tried doctors, medicines, massage therapy, and various exercise classes. Some things would provide temporary relief but not resolve the problem. Then I found my Pilates instructor who actually started her career as a Physical Therapist. I cannot express enough, how much better I feel! Between the Pilates and the sports tape (for prevention of muscle spasms), I am almost completely pain-free for the first time in a very long time! I and others have referred others to her, and each has had the same result. Find someone who can do taping – it works wonders!
